The Village crews have been working to repair a 30” storm tile that has failed along the north side of Route 136 at the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). The tile runs west to east and was installed around 1915 and carries storm water from the S Maplewood Detention pond to the ditch located east of the WWTP. The tile is on the WWTP site and protected by the properties’ security fence. The saturated soil conditions of June 29, 2015 prevented the crews from replacing the damaged section of tile without over excavating and potentially harming the sanitary sewer overflow lagoon. When the soil conditions improve, crews will resume the repair. This project does not impact travelers on Route 136.
